The Next Step is Nigh
There are 6 surveys left incomplete as of this morning. With today being the deadline to fill them out, I'll be finalizing the print and digital copies this weekend.
We'll finally be able to move on with the next stage of fulfillment and get these books in your hands!
Digital copies will be delivered via Backerkit once they ready some time next week. Keep an eye out for those.

The next time I reach out, it will be to share the timeline for print copies to be delivered to me so I can start putting your packages together.
One Week Left
I have another active campaign going on and we recently surpassed a milestone amount of backers:
Right now there are 580 lurkers (people who followed the campaign but haven't pulled the trigger.)
I have a hopeful target of hitting 500 by campaign's end, but if some of these lurkers flip over in the coming week we could surpass that by quite a bit.
I learned a lot of lessons with Volume 1 that I'll be carrying onward to Volume 2. (Not doing survey dependent items that hold up production, for example.)
Once the dust settles on getting your BSP Vol. 1 packages sent and the Naked Kaiju Woman campaign wraps up, I'll be opening the call for entries for writers vying for a spot in the next edition.

Good news! Surveys should be hitting your inbox this morning.
(Thank you to the handful who were prompt about filling out surveys for the smoke test.)
Filling out this survey is required for you to receive your rewards.
The book is mostly ready to go. The only hold up is your name for the "Thank You" pages.
For this reason, I've set a deadline of Saturday January 25, 2025 to get these filled out so I can start printing and distribute the epubs and pdfs.
If you don't fill out the survey before this deadline, I'll be including your Kickstarter Username on the thank you page.
Please do your best to fill this out as soon as possible.
New Campaign Launches TODAY
The campaign for my next project, Naked Kaiju Woman, is live today on Kickstarter.
Just a couple of hours in and we're already very close to funding - which would break the personal record set by Big Smoke Pulp Vol. 1 last year!

Funds - and Bookmarks - Received!

Happy Pre-Holiday Friday!
Some good news to report: I've received the funds from Kickstarter.
I like to be transparent about everything that's going on, sometimes to the point of oversharing, so here's some quick numbers...
Three backers were ultimately dropped as their cards did not clear in time, totaling a 3% loss in funding. Couple that with 5% Kickstarter fees and 3% Stripe fees - and the funding total looks a lot smaller than it did on closing day -- but that's just the reality of crowdfunding!
Still very happy with how this whole campaign went and excited to get this book in everyone's hands as soon as possible...along with the bookmarks!
Surveys Before Printing
With funding secured, I've locked down the order for printing -- but I haven't provided the files yet. Before that, I'll be sending a survey out in the next few days via Backerkit.
Look out for an email like this one...
A question I need answered in the survey before I can finalize the file for printing is confirming your name, and whether or not you'd like it included, for the back 'Thank You' pages of the book. I understand my timing isn't great with everyone certainly being busy over the holidays, but the sooner we get a response, the sooner I can send finals to the printer.
The Next Project
While I'm working hard on fulfilling Big Smoke Pulp Vol. 1, I've got another project that is launching January 8th:
NAKED KAIJU WOMAN
The title says it all, doesn't it?
This is a 32-page full-colour first issue of a five-part series -- but this is a self-contained story! Think of it like a movie with each subsequent story as a sequel to the first.
The city is attacked by Kaiju and only one person can stop it! Claire, a headstrong analyst who spends most of her time working at home in her sweats, has the ability to grow over 50 feet tall! A handy skill in a town regularly attacked by giant monsters!

Thanks to the 123 backers of this campaign!
We hit an astounding 781% funded this campaign! This will help us get some beautiful paperback copies to spread to the masses (along with the exclusive hardcovers some of you got your hands on.)
The book is nearly ready to go, just a nip and a tuck required formatting-wise and we'll be ready to print and send out digital epubs and pdfs.
So what's next?
Over the next 14 days, the handful of backers whose cards didn’t process will get a week to correct their card info.
If it’s not completed within the next 7 days, their pledge will, unfortunately, be dropped.
This project will be ready to print & fulfill as soon as funding clears. You'll have these books as soon as I can turn them around, which is very soon.
Surveys will be distributed via Backerkit. If there’s something you wish you added but didn’t, that’ll be your opportunityto do so. I’ll send more information about that then.
I can't wait for you to read everyone's stories!
Crushing Those Stretch Goals!

Hi Everyone,
Smashing Goals with 4 Days Left!
We've been getting through stretch goals at a speedy pace - including the 100 Backer mark!
With that, comes our physical backer stretch goal: the Big Smoke Pulp bookmark with the cover art by Roberto Viacava.
That's not all! We're adding a few pages worth of stories to the pages of this book. It's becoming a heavy sonovagun!
The Kickstarter-Exclusive hardcover really seems to be a hit. If this trend continues, I could see us easily getting through the rest of the stretch goals...
Note that I've added yet another, given our impressive pace. Who knows? If we get closer to 800%, maybe a new physical stretchgoal is in order?
We'll know better by Friday! I'll check in before then.
